When you want to consult with a doctor at Chutoen General Medical Center…
(1) Do you have a health insurance card?
You will be responsible for and must pay high medical costs in the full amount if you don’t present a health insurance card.
If you don’t have a health insurance card, please ask your employer or the city hall about obtaining a card before visiting a hospital or clinic for a consultation.

(2) First, visit a clinic near you. Clinics in your local community are the first line of medical care.
When you need to see a doctor, please a visit to a clinic in your area first.
If your condition is severe or an extensive test is required, the doctor at the clinic will write a referral to Chutoen General Medical Center for a more extensive consultation and/or testing.

(3)You need a referral from a doctor.
As a general rule, a referral from a local clinic is required to receive a consultation at Chutoen General Medical Center.
Without a referral, you will be charged an additional 7,700 yen (including tax) as the Special First-Consultation Fee (TOKUTEI SHOSHIN-RYŌ).

(4)If you need a doctor at night, on weekends, or during the holidays…
First, try visiting a clinic near you during their office hours unless it is an emergency.
